I have a friend that wants me to do a candyclay angel with full, body length wings on a cake. I saw a 3-D swan in one of the pictures posted on CC, and thought maybe I could use pieces of real lace with hardened piping gel on the back of them to 'support' them?????

Does anyone have any ideas? HELP!

Haven't done this before but try florist wire (in white) and shape it like a wing. Then place your lace over it, cut a tiny bit bigger then hot glue it to the wire. Should work. HTH--Pam

I don't know if you would want to use this but my grandmother use to soak her's in starch to harden it. she would let it dry the shape she wanted it

Oh, yeah, Molly2--

I forgot about that--you can buy the stiffy stuff at Michael's or Hobby Lobby. Works the same as starch.
