or you might be the crazy cake lady, when you find yourself baking at midnight, and you look down and your newly manicured toes and realize...They are covered in powdered sugar! At first I thought, wow, this is the worst polish ever, its chipped off! Then...I realized, I AM the crazy cake lady with the speckled powdered sugar feet! Anyone else out there afflicted with the "disease?"
I usually do the very early morning baking. I'm better at 4 am than at midnight. Right now it's 10 pm and I just woke up to kick the kids to bed; just thought I would come on and see what's up. Now it's back to sleep. Have fun baking!
I've been known to do both late night and early morning baking
I think that tomorrow will be an early morning baking day - six layers for a wedding cake and 4 8" squares for a Spongebob (and me with only one 8" square pan).
I always try to bake at night then the phone has stop ringing and I wont be talking and burn a cake!
Now, a chuckle for you...last week I tasted my black icing, then wiped my mouth with the paper towel that I had used to clean the tip with...threw it away....decorate,decorate....
Husband comes home and looks at me like I'm guilty of something, and asks if I'd been picking my nose, and begins to explain how gross it is ("Captain Obvious" is what I like to call him.)...
I looked in the mirror to find...A PERFECT RIM OF BLACK ICING ON ONE NOSTRIL!...
Not sure if the Captain believed my explanation, but it was funny!
I find my cakes turn out much nicer when I work early hours of the morning 3-5am If I try to bake and decorate during the day I get lots of unwanted "help" mostly from my husband who wants to do the icing lol honestly he is worse than the kids sometimes
You know you have a problem when...your laptop is covered in BC...reeks of Vanilla...and your DH says are you planning on doing all of this laundry? And you find yourself saying...Ummm...What Laundry??? Where??? ![]()
