Ok, so I had almost given up on marshmallow fondant until today! It was hot and humid here, and was a little nervous, that I was going to either have a sticky mess, or a dry ball like I had in the past. I made the recipe online here, and made sure not to add all the powdered sugar as I did in the past. I also kneeded plenty of cornstarch into the fondant, instead of powdered sugar this time. I finally got the consistency of the Pettinice fondant that I much preferred!!! So....hopefully it wasn't a fluke, and just a little trial and error did the trick. MMF is SOOOO much cheaper than a 20 dollar package of Pettinice, and taste is virtually the same!
Anyone else have MMF nightmares before? I really was ready to swear it off entirely until today!

Suzmazza, you have given me courage to attempt the MMF. I have been putting it off due to fear of failure. But here goes nothing. It is 11:30pm here in Houston, Tx. I'm going to start now. I'll let y'all know how it turns out. Wish me luck!!!!

I just made the "easy fondant recipie" with a tub of fluff and 2tsp lemon extract and 6-8 cups sugar , which i used 7. It seems nice and smells good but I'm not very familiar with fondant yet b/c i am just now inthe wilton course 3 and my first time playing with fondant was last week. But after reading so much on here about the horrible taste of the wilton fondant (which is what they recommend you to buy in class to familirize yourself with the texture) i decided to make my own for the heck of it . I hope it works b/c it only costs me about $3 to make compared to the $20 5lb box of wilton. but it seems a little softer then the wilton one. I have to wait to get to class to see if its a good consistency.
