I have seen allot of different colors of cake foil. Can I put a cake directly on these or do I need to cover with contact paper? The only paper I have used has been the Wilton brand that is FDA approved.

Thanks for your help.

There are FDA approved colored foils made by companies other than Wilton but if you're using colored foil that isn't food-approved, I'd cover it. Some of the colored foils have been found to contain lead.

Thanks so much. Will the label on the foil tell me if they are food safe or not?

It may not but when you purchase the foil, it should be in the product description.
