Does anyone use almond bark to make their choc. transfers? If so, do you just melt & pipe or do you need to add anything extra?
Thanks!!

You can just melt and pipe, it's the same thing really as candy melts.
If it seems a little thicker than works for you as far as piping though you can add a little shortening to thin it.

I use it and it works great. I also color it when I need other colors.

I always use almond bark..it is much cheaper than candy melts. You melt and then pipe.

I just finished a Blues Clues chocolate transfer and used almond bark. It was a re-do as I had made one a couple of days ago with candy melts. It was too runny and made a huge mess. I like the thicker consistency. The best part, it costs a fraction of what the melts cost.

I just tried some practice transfers using it, & it didn't seem as shiny as the candy melt transfers that I've made before. I wonder if Crisco would help? About how much do you add?

paramount crystals will thin out your chocolate so you can dip, paint or pipe. it has no taste and it melts right in with the chocolate (in the microwave or double boiler).

i get mine at www.onestopcandle.com. 1.25 for a 4 ounce bag. and they are super fast with shipping and so friendly.

Ive been using almond bark for the last 15 years and I also use paramount cyrstals, you can also add these when using your icing colors to color the almond bark, it will stop it from seizing up. As everyone has said you cant beat the cost.
