Hi,

I just did a bridal shower cake with a celtic theme and thought I'd share. I used choco-pan for the first time, and while I loved the taste, I found it really difficult to work with. Has anyone else had that problem? I live in NJ and it was warm and humid when I tried to cover the cake, so I guess that had something to do with it. But, unlike MMF, it doesn't patch well either, so I really had to work to hide some pretty drastic damage!

Let me know what you think...

Thanks! I used a cutter from Patchwork Cutters.

I think it is gorgeous! I love your Celtic knot and Gaelic saying! Great job! (I'm a little biased though, I'm 100% Irish icon_wink.gif )

Choco pan is yummy, for sure. I think you just need to work with it and practice. I dust the surface with 50/50 mixture of cornstarch and pwdr sugar. For anything added after the cake is covered in fondant, mix the fondant with some gumtex, tylose or gumpaste. Maybe you know all of that already.

The cake is really beautiful. I can't see any imperfections in the fondant.
