I've never done a doll cake before and need a few questions answered. Is there any way to do a doll cake without buying the pan? I'm just worried I won't ever make another one and it will be a waste. Also, anyone know about how many one of these cakes will serve?

Thanks in advance. icon_biggrin.gif

Giving myself a bump and have one more question. Can you give me a range of what I might charge for this. I usually charge about $60 for my two tiered cakes with fondant accents (see photos). How much would I charge for a doll, let's assume all buttercream (though I haven't thought about this yet)?

I used to make doll cakes all the time in the stores with no pan you dont have to have it. you can just carve down a couple of stacked rounds. as far as servings I would say 8 to 12 depending on size of slice. I cant help you with pricing im a classic under charger I probably wouldnt charge anymore than 30 done in BC.

I'm doing one for Friday. Will use a couple of metal domed mixing bowls and stack them- may put it on a 10 inch round base- haven't heard how many servings I'll need yet. Using a real doll, so need lots of height for the legs- plus this will give me a little extra cake. Don't count on much more than about 12 servings unless you stack it tall or make the base wider.
