I am doing a cake for a friend and she wanted a fourth of a sheet, 9x13. She said I could decorate it however I wanted to. I would like to do a round instead but I am not sure what size would be comparable. I only do one layer in my sheet cakes but my rounds I do two. I want about the same serving size since I don't want the price to change. Should I use an 8 or a 10?

I'd ask her if round is ok - it is harder for some people to serve.

people are just going to cut slices from the round cake, not cut a "serving" size, so unless you tell her and she agrees to cut it the way you tell her, she'll get fewer servings out of it.

I would go with the 10 just to be on the safe side. That way if the slices are a little big there should be enough cake there to compensate.

We are pretty good friends and I know she probably won't care, but I was planning on asking her first. I was just working out the design and thought it would be cutter if it was a round. I just wanted to know what size before I called her.
