Hi everyone, I'm trying to do a sketch of a wedding cake for a couple I met with last week. I feel like I have to kind of prove myself to them that I can do it because I haven't done a lot of wedding cakes yet, mostly 3D cakes and party cakes. So I want to do an amazing job on this cake so I can start doing more weddings and get more referrals....etc etc. This is the cake I'm trying to sketch:

230 people, probably will do a couple of kitchen cake since they don't want a giant cake. All white fondant.

Bottom tier: square

Middle tier: round, with silver dragee dots on side.

Top tier: square, with monogram plaque. Loop bow on top with two real ribbon curls down side.

silver bead border on all tiers, I think. I am meeting with them again next Wednesday and I need to have a sketch ready and cake samples. Help!!

If you have access to a drawing program.....ie: autocad or solidworks, that would be best, if not, just use graph paper, so you can get it drawn on a smaller scale, and they can actually see what it is going to look like.

I don't have any drawing programs, just MS publisher and printshop.... maybe just pencil and paper is the best way to go.

Any other ideas??

Thanks Doug, that's what I was looking for! How did you make those templates?? I need to do that exact setup but with a little bit smaller cake on the top. So far I was thinking of using a 14 in sq, 10 in round, and 6 in sq. on top, but I'm not sure if I'll need to change those sizes b/c of the round/square tiers...
