I am going to try my first frozen buttercream transfer and I have looked at the article "How to create a Frozen Buttercream Transfer" but the suggested batch of buttery buttercream icing uses "1 cup of crisco" and "sticks of butter". I understand that I can use Trex, which is available in the UK, instead of crisco but how heavy is a cup or a stick of butter? icon_cry.gif

I hope someone can help as I would rather not guess at my first attempt at FBCT.

Thanks

You can also make these with all butter if you are used to that. a stick of American butter (or 1/2 a cup, 8 tablespoons) is 113 grams or 4 ounces.

I do a lot of European cooking, so I weigh butter all the time - just ran to the fridge to be sure and yep, 113.4 grams.

I'm not sure about how to convert the crisco, but a stick of butter equals 1/4 pound if that helps.

Please don't use Trex or any other white fat - it tastes really, really gross! I do FBCTs all the time just using butter with no problem! A stick of butter is 115g and a cup is 230g. Hope that helps!
