Source To Buy A Wilton Course 4 Kit

I need a wilton course 4 kit but the store in my area is way overpriced. Does anybody have a good website with a cheap price ? TIA
Is this a course four OR is this the fondant gumpaste course??
How much is your store selling it for?
Maybe you could use a 50% off coupon?![]()
I thought that it was the same thing . It is the fondant and gumpaste course. My store has the market cornered in our small town no coupons- they sell it for 25
Missy,
I look through your gallery and you know what I think....you don't need that class.
I never took the class and I do the gumpaste/fondant thing.
If you look at the back of the kit you'll see what they cover and I bet you could probably do most if not all of it now!!
If you looking to learn to make the flowers....that's what I wanted to learn more then anything. Get the Wilton Gumpaste Flower book. The cutter are not the best....I personally think metal cutters are way better then the plastic BUT....it gives you something to work with and the instructions are clear and step by step with pictures!! I need pictures! I taught my self...look in my gallery at the pictures....I bet you could do it too!!
$25 sounds like a steep price for that kit! I don't know what my Michaels sells it for but I know the gumpaste flower book that I told you about it $20 and that includes all of your cutters and the foam squares that you'll need. I'm not sure if that includes you ball tool but I think that came with course three???
I hope this helps you out. Maybe if you have a Wal-Mart in your area? OR maybe E-Bay????
thanks for the compliment!! The storein my town charges 25 for the kit and 25 for the class. I already signed up for the class but I was trying to avoid paying for the kit. I think I will do like I did on the other 3 classes and just buy a few of hte major parts that I need because I already have a lot of tools.
First off, there is no Wilton Course 4.
Second if you are talking about the new Fondant and Gumpaste Course that just came out this year, if your store has the kit for $25 then that is already a deal. At Michaels it sales for $29.99 and the class is $30 (minus the monthly promotion). For what is in the kit (I've priced it) you are already saving money over buying the pieces seperately.
Yeah, my kit was over 30.00 and luckily I used a 1/2 off coupon. But the class is still pricey and there's no "deal" coming up. I agree, the flowers don't look thta exciting, but it's one step closer to me getting to selling cakes.
Some of it looks like things we learned in other classes. Why can't they teach better flowers?
Can you find someone who would buy one with a coupon and sell it to you at cost from Michaels?
Hi,
First, the retail for that kit is $29.95. HIGH! But if you buy it with a 40% coupon it should be about $18.00. If you were to try to buy the items in the kit it would cost Much more. You could look to ebay for the book and possibly the kit, but watch out for shipping, it might make it cheaper to just buy it locally. If you decide to go ahead with the class, you would have a hard time taking it w/out that kit. However, if you have taken the other 3, you may find this class Too elemental for you.
So, my advice would be: if you have taken the first 3, buy the kit at a Michael's or Joann's With a coupon and look for the book on Ebay. Then do it yourself! I agree that some of the flowers are just so..so. But the carnation is nice and the daisy is great. The main thing is to get use to working with this medium. By the way in July, there is a great deal at Michael's.
Either way it is kind of fun! I know I enjoyed it!
Good Luck!! ![]()
The daisy and the carnation are very easy flowers and you can teach yourself to do those. I have NO talents with anything else and I am not very good at reading directions and doing things but I could do this!
I think the price for the kit is a bit $$$ And I also read a thread on her somewhere that Michaels is no longer accepting the coupons for the Wilton classes????!!!??? I did all of my classes and kits on coupons. I feel bad for the people that can't do this....
If you do a search I'm sure you'll find that discussion.
I think the hardest flowers to do in the Wilton flower book was the orchid. But the others are really easy!
Just so you know... Michael's accepts coupons, theirs and competitors for Product, as long as it is Not an internet coupon. They run specials for the classes which are $30 for 4 weeks if classes. That's $5 a class! Less than One movie ticket! I agree that the Fondant /Gumpaste Kit is a bit pricey, but you need to look at contents and prices if bought individually.
As I said before, This class is a Beginner class and you might be disappointed if you are of a higher skill level.
I hope you will check out all the options and find out from the retailer what their prices and policies Really are.
I'm sure you will do fine no matter which way you decide to go. Cake decorating is supposed to be Fun, so trust Your instincts!
great cake decorating to you!!
Just so you know... Michael's accepts coupons, theirs and competitors for Product, as long as it is Not an internet coupon.
Michaels does not accept coupons on the cost of their classes, on any of them not just Wilton. Most of the stores do offer some type of promotion for their Wilton classes, so that helps with the class cost.
Michaels now has on their coupons that they will not accept the coupon on the Wilton Course Kits. I had a cashier try this out and the coupon still works for now, but it depends on the cashier and if they know you aren't suppose to use them for the kits.
And some Michaels do except the printed Hobby Lobby coupons from the internet. I know mine does.
I started that class last week (without buying the kit). Once I got my book for class and saw the list of items included in the kit.......I had already bought every piece of it seperately. The only thing that you can't purchase is the "dusting cloth" which....I will use cheesecloth for.
You might find that you have some/most of these items already too. A girl in my class can't afford the kit and I told her that I would share my items with her. You might find someone to do that with too
Good luck!
Wow, if what you say is true here, too, I am so glad that I bought the kit a couple months ago, with my 1/2 off coupon! I agree, the cost of the class isn't bad for the 4 weeks of commaraderie and enjoyment of learning the technique. And it wouldn't hurt to have a refresher, I suppose. But I have to say, I spent 500.00 easily on the 12 weeks that I was in class. If they eliminate the coupons, I wouldn't spend nearly so much, so that is REALLY idiotic to do.
I started the Wilton Fondant and Gumpaste class last week at Michaels, and purchased the kit that day. I used the 10% off that the store gives for taking the class on everything, except the Wilton kit. I used the published 40% off coupon for that, that I recieved from the Michaels sale flyer in the recent Sunday edition of the Washington Post. No problem whatsoever.
It was $29.99 for the kit, the 40% off coupon took off $12, MD sales tax of 5% so it brought me to $18.89. I have an AC Moore right down the street from Michaels, they don't have this kit, but they did have a 50% off coupon floating around (I already used mine), although I'm not sure if my Michaels accepts them (but I guess I can find out). OP, if you're interested in that price and can wait a week or so for mail delievery, PM me and I'm sure we can work something out to get you the kit cheaper than in the stores (and maybe I can get my hands on a 50% AC Moore coupon).
(Hi everyone, this is my first post... hopefully many more will follow!
)
Good for you StarbucksAddict! Welcome to the boards!
