All,

I am looking for some ideas for my sons (2 and 5 years old) birthday.I am having a puppet show and plan to get some cotton candy and pop corn machine.

Any ideas on what kind of cake to make.any other ideas to make this more fun for the little ones would be appreciated

TIA

My first thought was to use twinkies standing up on the cake as the "Bodies/heads"(Use a piece of a drinking straw as a dowel to keep it standing) and use Marshmallow fondant to cover them and create the puppet faces and arms.

You could also use cupcakes similar to those that are made to look like Sesame St. characters and instead, create your own muppets. You could use the grass tip to make "fur" etc...check out Cinda's Creative Cakes for some inspiration. She has a huge selection of cupcakes!

Or, you could do a popcorn cake. There are probably examples of some on this site.

This is a cute idea for a party! I'd like to see what you end up making, if you wouldn't mind posting a picture.
