Thank you guys so much for all your suggestions and advice. i didnt have any major problems so i'm confident to move on from here. This was for my son's christening. Bottom layer was yellow with pineapple bavarian cream filling and top was marble with same filling (filling from country kitchen). Everyone loved the cake. Frosting was whipped cream buttercream by charlotte found on this site but roses and leaves were wilton premade filling. Name on top is fbct. There are a couple of other views in my photos. Bottom layer has another fbct. I see many flaws but no one else did so thats the good thing. I had a fever the day i decorated and my hands were shaking from being so cold but i'm happy with it. Tell me what you guys think good & bad.

WOW! Your cake turned out awesome. Your FBCT is perfect. Great job! How did you get your FBCT to look like it was part of the icing? Mine are always higher than the icing so I have to put a border about them!

Thank you gals.

heiser73 since it was whipped frosting i pressed the fbct down a little into the frosting but my fbct was probably a little less then 1/4'' thick. how thick do you usually make yours?

I've only made a few of them, but I always end up adding too much icing at the end to "smooth" them...I don't think I'm actually doing it the right way. They probably are like 1/2 inch thick! Next time I'll have to try to just add a little bit and to only make them 1/4 inch. But yours are really good...Great work!!

How very pretty!

Your borders and swags look great, too!

(I always look at borders, because I never seem to get 'em right!)

Guess I'm going to have to try the FBCT, too...

Thank you guys for your nice comments. I always just fill in my fbct and just press down to smooth but i never add any extra frosting after filling in. if you make it too thin it will break so i've read that it should be about 1/4'' thick. goodluck to you guys with the fbct its fun and beautiful and once you get it you will see that it wasnt hard at all. I decorated the cake the day before the christening so the fever went away by the next day so i was much better, thanks.
