How do you get confetti and sprinkles to stick on chocolate covered oreos?
Do you put the sprinkles in the mold first?

I don't use sprinkles on mine, but I have a thought if someone wants to give it a go... maybe soften the top just a tad with a torch? (Even a small one like in the brulee kits.)

I've asked that question before and the answer I got was to do the sprinkles on the opposite side of the mold i.e. the bottom. Once you've poured and covered your oreo, put your sprinkles on then in the wet chocolate. They will set up with the chocolate. That's the easiest way I found to do it.

Oh, I see how that would work. Thanks!

Anything I put on my oreos is "glued"on with melted chocolate.

I take the finished oreo out of the mold then "glue"on what ever i am putting on top of it.
The ones that I have done with sprinkles and sugars, i just put a very thin layer of melted choc on top and just sprinkled it on.

I've done sprinkles around the edges too. Most of the cookies I've done with the sprinkles are hand dipped, it hides the messiness of it. I just dipped (or molded) the cookie. Let it harden, then rolled in a little extra melted chocolate around the edges and then into the sprinkles and let harden again. The top is done just like JenWith said.

I use to make my kids chocolate covered oreos every Christmas. Also, the white cholate. They looked so forward to it. I would even put a little mint flavor in the reg chocolate.

Then they came out with them in the store so now they are not so special.

Run a hairdryer over the tops for a few seconds and then put your sprinkles on. HTH

Ah, hair dryer trick... hmmm, that's worth trying. I have some practice oreos at home along with some sprinkles. I'll have to give it a shot.

That's what I do too....."paint" a thin layer of melted chocolate on top and sprinkle. Since it's a thin layer, you have to sprinkle fast before the chocolate hardens again, so I do one at a time for sprinkles.

I don't use molds for my oreos. I dip them all by hand and lay them on waxed paper, sprinkle with decorations or put my royal icing/sugar decorations on and then freeze til they are hard. Works perfectly.
