Does anyone have any suggestions or tips on how to get the diamond pattern look on buttercream . The cake is for a wedding, the diamonds will be on the center tier which is a 8" square.

there is a diamond press mat that you could purchase, sorry not sure where but I have been wanting to buy it myself icon_lol.gif In the mean time I use a diamond cookie cutter. If your using fondant imprint while it is soft,if you are using BC wait about 20min to 1/2 hr to crust, then imorint.I took my square metal cookie cutter and bent it out of wack to form a diamond, works great.

thanks, I had forgotten about the diamond mat. I don't get many calls for the diamond pattern. I don't know why it is very elegant.

I just bought a diamond impression mat - I think from cakesbysam.com (I've ordered a good bit of stuff lately and can't remember what came from where!). Haven't used it yet, though!

You can get impression mats from www.cakecraftshoppe.com. I just got on there and they run about $5 each.
