I have an order for playing card themed sugar cookies. I like to use fondant to cover cookies. I don't like to free hand anything as my artistic ability is lacking. How do you suggest I do the different suits? The heart is easy, but the others are more tricky (clubs...) Any ideas are appreciated. I'm confident the solution is painfully obvious, but I'm just not seeing it. icon_lol.gif TIA

i bet if you looked you could find cookie cutters on the internet or even make some sort of template to trace around

The old xerox machine might be my thought - then trace and cut out. I have ice cube trays in the suits - got them at walmart - if that would help.

I was just looking on the internet at clay cutters.

They are basically fondant cutters.

I know I saw a set that would work for you.

Do a search for clay cutters, I bet you will find the cutters you need!

Michaels, JoAnn's or Hobby Lobby might have them also.

I don't have any suggestions, but am exicted to see what you come up. I have purchased some mugs with the card suits on them from my local dollar store and plan on making bouquets this fall and donating them to my son's school's Annual Fall Card Party. I want to do some of each suit and then a few cards as well. If I think of anything I'll let you know, as I said I have no advice now, but maybe you can find comfort in the fact you are not alone?! My Michael's has the clay cutters in those shapes. They are over with the polymer clay stuff. They're comparable in size to fondant cutters. There is a bunch of stuff in the clay aisle that works for fondant!!!

you could also make your own templates. i googled card suits, then laminated the pictures. the suits really aren't hard to do.
