We all know ri pieces last thru the ages but how long will fondant flowers be good - I mean look good and still be edible.

Also, if you brush them with dry luster dust is it as good as making it liquid? What is the difference?

TIA.

OK, so here is what I did and it seemed to be all right. I painted the flowers with a little luster dust in clear vanilla and threw the pearls in a baggie with just the dry dust (just a bit) and gave them a shake. All's well...

However, anyone know how long they will be good?

If you keep them dry in a container they will last for a long time. I keep my pearls in old prescription bottles and flowers in a cookie tin.

I used my tulips from last Easter this year, no probs. Looked good, even the colour didn't fade. They have been stored in a carton box. Fondant is simillar to royal icing, mostly sugar and sugar is great preservant.
