Hello. I see that there are many swags going on with this cake. Are those rosettes that they are stemming from? Can anyone tell what the border is? Anything else you may notice would be most appreciative!

Not that I know of. A friend's friend emailed it saying it's her "dreamcake" she found on a site for an italian bakery. (she would like a smaller version for her wedding) I'm not sure if it's an original of theirs or not. Maybe I can email them?

Looks like little drop flowers at the top of the swags to me and a pearl border, but as stated it's hard to tell. You could easily improvise though.

Unfortunately I can't elp other than post another picture from that same site where the detail "may" be able to see better becaue of the contrasting colors. I am not pro enough to determine the methods used.

Good luck, I'd tackle a weird shaped 3D creation any day before I'd try getting all those swags and strings even and perfect. LOL. Yikes!

It is difficult to see in full detail, but at a guess, I reckon it's all royal icing. Amazing cake!

icon_lol.gif You have nothing to be afraid of...I nearly choked when I saw this. She said it's just her dream cake and knows it's a lot of detail. Her wedding is going to be sort of "victorian" and she thought this was perfect. (if anyone knows of any other 'victorian" ideas - help. lol)

I wondered if that was cornelli lace or the sota on that one tier. If, IF I did this, it would only be up to maybe 3 of those tiers. She would even go for dummy cakes and only the top tier being edible. (with sheet cakes for the guests)

Thank you all!!!

This is a cake made with the Lambeth method... Usually you use royal icing and many kind of pipings one on top of other.. that's a lot of work to make...but in the end it worths to make it looks beautiful. This one it looks it has roses on top, the swang has some cornelly lace , I will try to post one I make...maybe it can help.

You probably already tried this but I saved the photo to my computer and used my photo software to inhance the photo. The problem with this is that I messed with the pixels making it huge. It will take my dail-up maybe a year to send it to you. Do you have any software that you could try it with?

Thank you kuki, I would like to see yours. Could you still do the same with BC? Or is RI better?

I've seen, at my local cake supply store, silicone molds to make various lace patterns. I think they look very victorian without all that piping! I'll go see if I can find some on-line,
