We have had 3 of our friends have babies in the last 3 days. I am going to try to do some cookies up for them ( onsies etc...) but I am curious about packaging. Do you just put them into boxes or how should I do it?

Or you could do a bouquet, but I personally like boxing with colored tissue paper and individually wrapping each cookie. I tie the box with a piece of ribbong as well. Just makes it more festive and like a gift. It will be easier on you too (baking, assembly, delivery) if they are in a box. icon_smile.gif They will last a bit longer individually wrapped and they can hand them out to friends who stop by to visit.

What a great idea Michelle! Thanks! How many should I make for each baby then? 12? 24? 36? What's the norm?

depends on how many people your trying to feed hehe =)

I had an order recently for a cookie boquet and they ended up ordering a 3 cookie boquet for the parents and then 4 additional cookies for the grandparents (not sure if the grandparents got them or not, b/c they were given to the parents, but nice gesture I thought) Don't forget any siblings if there are already some in the family

i usually just try to do an assortment. my small bouquets used to have 6 cookies and now have 7. it's easier to arrange using an odd number

Wow those are great cookies! Did you buy the cookie cutters or make them yourself? What kind of icing are you using?

Here are a couple I did the pink ones as a gift to my brother when they had a baby and the second was an order placed by my bf for a friend of hers ......they were handed out by the new parents in both instances some just as an announcement and others in addition to a photo and paper birth announcement! Kinda similar to handing out choc.bars or cigars I guess lol

Oh and I made my own cookie cutter
