This is the second time that this has happened. I died some fondant pink (Wilton). I cut some flowers, Saturday, May 12th to go on a cake for this Saturday, May 19th. I checked the flowers this afternoon and i noticed that the fondant is fading. The flowers are defenitely lighter than the pink fondant that was left over. It is the MMF? None of the other colors have faded. I also have a yellow circle out of the same batch of fondant that has not faded and has been there longer. Why is the pink one the only one fading?

I have the same trouble with pink and mmf. You have to make the flowers all at once or you end up with a bunch of different shades.

Colors such as pink and purple fade very fast. Keeping them out of the light will help but not stop it. Kneading powder color will stay longer.

Is it just the Wilton pink and purples, or Americolor too? I had this happen with the Wilton pink I had, and have just bought Americolor; will this fade too?

I had that problem with my BC awareness cake, it looks almost white icon_sad.gif I used Wilton. I hope you get an answer because I want to know too.

This happened to me too! The cake that is my avatar is pink, but about 2 weeks later it turned for HOT pink to baby pink and 6 months later it was white as white can be. (It was a display/dummy cake!)

It's the Wilton color. I made the purple diamond cake in my photos 3 times. The first two kept fading. I did some research on here, and found out it was the Wilton color. I bought some Americolor- made the third cake (a dummy cake) and it's still lavender over a year later.
