I have my first fondant wedding cake next weekend. Our cake supply store has both Fondx & satin Ice-- This is a almost free cake for friends, so I was planning on using Fondx cause its cheaper, plus the guy at the store let me taste it, and its pretty good...... anyway I was just wondering how nicely/easily Fondx colors? I need to color all the fondant the same color as the last photo in my gallery.
Any tips for coloring, or just using fondx in general?
Fondx is great. One thing about fondx is the more you work with it, it will get softer. A tip from Cal Java, is to color the fondx a day or two ahead of time, because you will get frustrated with it after adding color because it will be too soft to work with and it will be good to let it rest for a few hours or over night after coloring. This happen to be adding color to fondx and it came up at a class at Cal Java.
Ohh thanks!! Great tip-- I will color it a few days before I plan on using it!

Thanks for sharing this! I had such a problem working with Fondx but, I had colored it and used it right away.
I'm going to have to give it a second chance! ![]()
