Me again. Ok, I decided to try my first FBCT for my husband's birthday cake this weekend... EEEEK! I'm so excited!! BUT... I live in South Africa and we have none of Wilton's ready made stuff here. What do I do? And how? Do I just make regular home-made buttercream frosting and edge and fill my design with it? Help please!

I've never the used the pre-made stuff. I just used the recipe for FBCT and piped my outline in that. I never had a problem. I used a tip 3 to pipe it in so it was a little thicker.

I have always used my regular all crisco buttercream for making the transfers and it comes out fine. If you are unsure if yours will work, spread some out on a piece of wax paper or plastic wrap and stick it in the freezer. You want to see if it will freeze solid and if you can peal the backing off as soon as you remove it.
