Ok, so I've been reading (and reading and reading) on these boards and I get the whole 'wrap your cake in plastic out of the pan' thing. It does make for an extremely moist cake.

My question is this though - how the heck do you crumb coat it, or even frost it? Mine falls apart it's so moist!! Help!! icon_cry.gif

I would then try freezing it first before frosting or crumb coating. I've never wrapped straight out of oven only once its cooled completely. But I do always freeze my cakes which makes for easier handling.

So do you frost it frozen, or let it thaw out first and then frost it? I frosted one frozen once and it 'sweated' through the buttercream... not good. What exactly do I do? icon_smile.gif

It sounds like your frosting is way too thick. You may need to thin it out to smooth it on so it does not tear the cake.
