Thanks to everyone here at CC who helped me with some of the questions I had on this one.........I have only done one other tiered cake, and it was my wedding cake, so the customer to satisfy was myself. This one was for a dear friend's grandmother's 85th birthday party- I only charged them for the cost of ingredients........she is like a grandma to me, and it was made with lots of love- she cried when I told her too! I can see a few things I would change, and over all, I am happy with how it turned out.........and I received another cake order from it for a 50th anniversary party in July.......for 350-400 people.........UGGHHH! Thank you again to you professionals for helping this ameteur!

What a beautiful cake and such a nice gesture for grandma. I wouldn't change anything on it, blue is my favorite color and many other peoples. I'm sure grandma was thrilled that you did this for her.

Loverly cake, Well done. Did you make the flowers out of fondant or are they real.

Karenelli -they are actually silk flowers.........I haven't braved the fondant or gumpaste ones, but I am thinking I would like to try for my next project!
