I have someone who has asked me to make a roller coaster cake for her 9 year old son's birthday. Does anyone have any ideas or pictures they could share......Thanks icon_smile.gif

You could make a sheet/rectangle cake as the base/ground, and then make some small (6 inch?) cakes. Cut the small cakes into half circles of varying heights, and stand them up several places around the base to make the hills of the roller coaster.

The track can be piped on with frosting, and use candies for the roller coaster cars? or mold from fondant or chocolate?

Sorry I don't have any pictures, this is just what popped into my head.

You could use the Wilton horseshoe pan, and put them end to end, with the rounded ends elevated. Make a fondant roller coaster train, and royal icing or piped chocolate tracks.

Thanks for all the cool ideas. Still waiting on friend regarding cake size. Will see how badly she wants the cake. Hopefully she will give me a little notice. icon_smile.gif
