For 300, WOW icon_surprised.gif .
You could try the 16" x 2" square. (I got mine from Wilton)
It serves 80 party size servings. If you make 8 layers you would have 320 servings. You could also stack them like you would the star cookie tree. That might be different.

Did you get my suggestion of the cookie tree stacking? I never explain myself very well.

You could use progressively smaller square pans. Such as 16", 12", 10", 8" and on. When you stack the cakes you would place the 16 X 4" double layer as your base, the the 12 X 4" double layer would be placed on top so the corners are pointing outward over the sides of the bottom layers and keep adding layers that way. It would look like a christmas tree.
If you used all 16 X 4 or 2" layers it would not look like a tree but would be very different from anything I have seen before. I might just use this idea for my 4th of July party.

look in one of the Wilton yearbooks (2006 pg. 196) If you see it you will know exactly what I'm trying to explain. If the layers all all the same size it would be a great design.

White and red modern is my style!!! lol. I am DYING to make a cake like this. I would do something square like stated above, ice it in white BC then decorate with swirls, circles, diamonds, and squares all in red all over it. Use a different shaped decoration for each tier and make multiple sizes of rach. This way you can do all the fondant decorations ahead of time and just stick them on once you ice it. GL!
