There's a small hole in the top of the bag of cake mix where the seal is. Do you think it's ok to use or should I throw it away?

Thanks!

If the box was sealed up, I would probably use it if I were making a cake for my own family. If it's for anyone else I wouldn't use it. Odds are nothing's wrong with it, but why take a chance if someone else is eating it.

Don't throw it away--take it back to the store where you purchased it from and replace it. I bought one that the entire bottom of the bag was opened--returned and they replaced it.

Thanks for the responses! I'm not going to use it. It is for someone else, and they are paying for it.

Mac, I do usually take things back if defective, but I think I'd rather pay the $1 than drag all three kids to wal mart, LOL. icon_biggrin.gif

Just call the store and tell them you want a replacement the next time you are in the store (that you do not want to drive there for just that mix right now) they will take your name down and you can replace it at your convenience.
