Hi guys,
yes I am back again. I am trying to find cake mixes in bulk. It is like Arizona's best kept secret. Is anyone from Arizona and knows where this secret hiding places for cake mixes in the mass might be hiding? Same with cake rounds, and any other thing that is needed in large quantities. Is there indeed a secret place and can one of you wise people point me in the right direction? We are planning to open up the first of June and have nothing to bake with or put it on or in lol... Please heeeelp meeeeee!
Thanks everyone.

Have you asked the grocer near you if you can purchase by the case? I buy cake mixes by the case from a store. They cost a lot less and then I have what I need.

I am going to go to Walmart to do just that... Thanks for the idea. I was hoping it might be cheaper in bulk. Do you know where to buy cardboard rounds and boxes at discount prices? Do you think making your own cake mixes is cheaper you know from scratch?

I really don't know which would be cheaper. I use a mix, 6 eggs, a pkg. of dream whip, oil or butter, depending on the mix, and water. The dream whip costs as much as the cake mix, maybe a bit more. You'll need to cost out one of each, to determine which is most economical for you.

Hi Evone,
You can get most everything you'll need for decorating at Christy's Cake Supplies in downtown Mesa or ABC Decorating Supplies in Phoenix.

As for bulk mixes, the only place I've seen them are at Smart and Final in Mesa.

Where in AZ are you?

IMO, you're not going to do better than WalMart for the home baker. I priced the bulk cake mix at Smart and Final and it was cheaper than the mixes at the grocery store ($1.99) but not as inexpensive as the mixes at walmart (94 and 88 cents).

Here are a couple links I found for boxes...

I found this for cake mixes, but honestly, it would probably be better to just buy them at walmart. They're 88 cents each here in Georgia, not sure about there. That's for Duncan Hines, Pillsbury is even cheaper.

Hope this helps,

What sized cake rounds are you looking for?

I just reworked our website for cake rounds to have their very own page, but we may not carry the size or kind you're looking for.
