I am about to lose my mind with frustration. I am trying to make daisies out off BC and my edges are ragged.
I have tried two different recipes. First, Wilton BC. When that gave me problems I thought it might be due to the new Crisco. So I tried Cakepro's Buttercream w/ Trans Fat-Free Crisco.
I was extremely careful not to mix two fast or too long. I did not go above Speed 2 on my Kitchen Aid and I mixed for a max of 3 min., if that.
What am I doing wrong? Can daisies not be done with BC? I am new to all of this. Please help!
I have the WORST time with daisies too, so don't despair, it's easier to make a rose!! Is it the BC that's giving you problems or the tip do you think? I always have to widen my leaf tips to get a good point, but if you are using weird BC I can see how the edges would get ragged. Work the icing in the bag for a bit and see if that helps, like mush it between your hands and knead it, but be careful not to blow it out the top!!! That may help.
