I'm a novice cake decorator. I do cakes occasionally for friends and family and I like to experiment (read "play") with new materials. I can't seem to find supplies though (creme fondant, rolled fondant, chocolates, etc.). Where can I go (on-line or to a nearby store) where I can buy a reasonable quantity of supplies? The very few places I found on-line sell "professional quantities" of the stuff! That gets really expensive fast when you only do a cake here and there or are experimenting. I'm located in Cecil County, Maryland, which is close to Delaware and Pennsylvania. The one cake supply store I have found in Delaware has limited items. Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Have you tried making the marshmallow fondant at home? It's fairly easy to make and I find it inexpensive and better tasting than the commercial grade stuff.

Here is the recipe:

Good Luck!!

Take a look on here for a tutorial (on the home page) for MMF. It adds flavoring as well and uses the mixer to make the fondant. This is the recipe I use and love it.

You can also look at sugarcraft.com, kitchenkrafts.com. They have things for the pros as well as hobby decorators.
