I'm making a simple groom's cake for my nephew's wedding this weekend and have a few questions. 1. Will the bride and groom cut the groom's cake in the same fashion that the wedding cake is cut? 2. Who cuts the cake (the caterer) and 3. does it get served with the wedding cake?
Thanks so much ...
It's up to the bride and groom. I have seen them cut the groom's cake together once. Usually they do the cut thing at the bride's cake, then it is cut and served, as is the groom's cake, by whomever is cutting the cake.
The groom's cake is really meant to just have something that really includes the groom in the reception. Back in the day, when I got married, my ex-husband, an Aggie, had a little replica of Kyle Field (the field where the aggies play football) as a groom's cake, and all his friends had to have a piece of that cake! They were all so excited to have that little thing for them at the wedding amongst all the girlie stuff! LOL
