I agreed to make a Jack and Jill shower cake where they want a flag draped over the cake. It will be 2 rectangle tiers torted with a custard filling. The flag will be made of Fondant, and the cake is to be delivered. I have never done a drape or a delivery before. DO I stack the cakes before I get there (the ride is about 30 minutes and my husband will drive while I watch the cake.) Also do I drape the flag onto it before I get there (if its assembled first) or wait till I get there. Also how do I keep the flag from drying out and cracking since I have to make it a day or two before? Can I wrap it in something like a shower liner to keep it moist? Would that work? Any help will be appreciated. This is my first BIG cake. Its for about 100 people, and my hope is that it will lead to me doing the wedding cake. (fingers crossed). Thanks. icon_smile.gif
