I would put a nice thin layer. Thicker than a crumbcoat layer but not as much as you would normally put on a cake!

I would probably put a regular layer on since choco pan rolls so thin. Your fondant is only going to be as smooth as your icing job--so use as much as it takes to get the cake smooth. If you are using white fondant, any cake color could possibly show through I know that is so with the wilton which rolls out as thin as the chocopan.

I love chocopan. I'm doing a wedding cake with the chocolate in a couple weeks.

From the website www.choco-pan.com
"Choco-Pan® is the ultra-premium alternative to traditional rolled fondant. Made with high quality white chocolate, Choco-Pan® offers a superior taste and texture along with increased yield. Choco-Pan® covers at a rate nearly double that of traditional rolled fondants at a competitive price."

Sounds really good to me!! I have never used it but will have to try it.
