I have quite a bit of icing left over and want to make roses. How long do they last stored in egg cartons on the shelf? And how long do they last stored in an airtight container then frozen?

They will keep in the freezer for weeks! I have used them after almost a month before.....as long as they are in an airtight container.

I would think you could keep them in the freezer for as long as you can store plain icing. I'd be wary about storing them at room temp for more than a few days.

I would store them in the freezer, just check them every so often, some of the colors will start to fade or change. Purples and blues especially. At Baskin robbins we stored them in the freezer all the time.

Since a cake will last over a year in the freezer I would think that you could freeze roses in the freezer as long as they are will protrected.

I suggest using ameri food gels. Purples, reds, and blues fade less!!
