I find that my sugarpaste is very hard and coloring it takes forever. If I microwave it for a few seconds will it be more softer to work with? Will that ruin my paste? Does anyone have any suggestions?

I do that sometimes, if my fondant is feeling a bit on the stiff side. Only heat it for a few seconds, 5 or so at a time, because it gets very hot quickly and I found out you can get a little burn on your fingers if you heat it too long.
