I want to fill a cake with pudding and ice it in ganache. What would I use as a dam for the middle of the cake? (I plan on making a small indentation in the bottom layer to hold the pudding better.)

I always wondered what to do if you weren't using bettercream to ice with. Hopefully this will bump you up and get some answers.

I've only ever used buttercream frosting too, so I have no idea what consistency ganache is.

maybe you could do a whipped ganache since you are making some anyway....I've never used it though, so I couldn't tell you definitely if it would work, but it might be an idea.
