Is Wasc Supposed To Be Really Dense?

I made the WASC cake last night for the first time (11"x15"). The changes to the recipe I made were:

All vanilla extract instead of vanilla and almond. Instead of 2 2/3 cups of water, I used 1 1/3 cup of water and 1 1/3 cup of white chocolate raspberry liquid coffee creamer as I've read in other posts.

It turned out to be quite dense. The cake scraps tasted good, I just thought this was supposed to be a "light" cake. Was I supposed to add the regular, called-for ingredients for the white cake mix and then the extra stuff? I just followed the recipe as it's listed on this site. Thanks for your help!

I've never made it any other way than the instructions say to and it's always been pretty dense. As long as it tastes good, I don't question, lol.

Thanks - I'm glad to see that I think I've done it right. It does taste good, so I'll leave it be. icon_smile.gif
