This is my first "big" cake and I am really nervous!!! It is for 80 people at a company picnic. What size cake should I do? Is a full sheet enough? Would I double it up to be 4 inches high or do I just keep it at the 2 inches? Thanks soo much!

Oh, I forgot...they want the company logo on it also! Would an edible image be the best way to go? I've never done one before, I know they just stick on the frosting, but are they hard to put on? I'm really not that great yet at smooth icing, so I think maybe I should try something other than an edible image..What do you all think?

A 12x18 (half sheet) serves 54 (2x2) pieces, or fewer larger pieces. A 18x24 (full sheet) serves 108 (2x2) pieces. The half sheet is much easier to deal with and transport, in my opinion. You could do one half sheet in chocolate and one half sheet in vanilla, each with the company logo on it. Or you could make one double layer half sheet, which would give you more than enough servings in one cake. As for the logo, do you have access to an overhead projector? You could project the design onto the cake and just trace, outline and fill. Edible images are not really all that difficult, but they are unforgiving if they are not put on perfectly.

Good Luck! thumbs_up.gif
