Hey guys! I know I am already here asking for more ideas. icon_rolleyes.gif I really AM a creative person, but lately my mind just cannot focus. icon_surprised.gif So if you can spare me some more great ideas, I will be very appreciative. Here's the deal. I have pretty much carte blanche on design for a bridal shower. The theme of the shower is "baking/recipes". Colors will be red with a little pink (tablecoths) and gold accents. I am thinking they want a more "cute-sy" than formal theme, and I think they are expecting something clever. I would like to do a sheet if possible; ideas for the top? Any ideas? I had thought about making some cute fondant pieces on top, like an oven mitt, chef hat, wooden spoon, etc., but what to write? There's gotta' be a better idea...help me find it! thumbs_up.gif Oh yeah! Cake is due 6/24 and needs to feed at least 25. Also, (I know I'm pushing my luck here) icon_redface.gif but if possible, please include pricing suggestions with your ideas? THANKS IN ADVANCE, CC PEEPS!! icon_biggrin.gif

I think some misc. kitchen stuff is great. Maybe you could add a "recipe for a good marriage" Something like a A bunch of love, sprinkle of humor, dash of understanding, etc.

Is it a shower where everyone brings a favorite recipe? How about putting the recipe for the cake and icing on the cake? Maybe putting in a recipe for a good marriage kind of thing? Maybe making it look like an oven?

A 9x13 will feed 24 with ever so slightly larger than 2x2 pieces. With just buttercream I'd charge $40, if your doing fondant things too maybe $50. I haven't gotten into fondant yet.

What if, instead of a sheet cake, you cut the sheet out in the shape of an apron? I've attached a few different invitations, that may help. Also, this website has a great "recipe for love" which like Jenn123 said would be a good thing to write on the cake.

These are the lyrics to a Harry Connick Jr. song...pretty good song. Anyway, I like the lines

"It doesnt need sugar cause its already sweet
It doesnt need an oven cause its got a lot of heat
Just add a dash of kisses to make it all complete
And thats the recipe for [making] love" (I think you could leave out making, and it sounds just as good)

OH those are cute.

There is a photo in the mother's day file of someone sending a cake with a recipe on it...

Let me see if I can find it.

But I like the ideas everyone has contributed so far... excellent ideas.

Here's what writing a recipe in the form of a recipe card would be...

I like the idea of an apron, with wording... Very girly.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!! I LOVE both of these ideas, I think the apron would be adorable, and so would the recipe card!! WOW! You guys are too awesome. I think I will let the customer choose which Idea she likes the best and then file the other idea away for another occasion, b/c they are both really neat ideas. Would I have time to order the frosting sheet and figure out how to print it? The cake is due6/24. If not, other ideas on how to copy that recipe card cake by my deadline in case she chooses that one?

Recipe for a Happy Marriage

1 cup consideration

1 cup courtesy

2 cupfuls flattery carefully concealed

1 gallon faith and trust in each other

2 cupfuls praise

1 small pinch of in-laws

1 reasonable budget, a generous dash of cooperation

3 teaspoon pure extract of "I'm sorry"

1 cup contentment

1 cup each confidence and encouragement

1 large or several small hobbies

1 cup blindness to the other's faults

Flavor with frequent portions of recreation and a dash of happy memories. Stir well and remove any specks of jealousy, temper or criticism. Sweeten well with generous portions of love and keep warm with a steady flame of devotion. Never serve with cold shoulder
