Okay,

So I'm starting a journal. I'm taking a vote...

What do I need in my journal?

What am I going to wish I had written. Mind you this is a record of accomplishments and failures, and what to do/not do next.

Exact methods, recipe amounts, and such I have on paper rather than computer. I wish I had a way of side posting the recipes.

YES,

I want record of my cooking. What works, what I did that the recipe doesn't mention. If I changed it, liked or hated the change.

For instance, I really want to make the Colette Peter's 4thofJuly cake... It is enormous. I wonder if anyone came into challenges not mentioned in her direction. The directions are easy. But I can see a few potential... ummmm what did she say do? moments.

It would be nice if each recipe were listed. I could click on the recipe and find rember the bumps and do this different next time. Some of these recipes I do over and over, again. but others I haven't done in YEARS.

There's a note I made in Epicurious.com... noticed it in a recipe I made and soooo glad I mentioned the change I made. When I read the post, I remembered! Totally forgot about the change.

Thanks for the comment.

Well I don't have a blog but I am kind of doing the same thing in scrapbook form. I am putting my album together very simply with few embelishments. Behind the scrapbook page where no one will see it but me I am putting a "MY INFO" page.

It includes:
Kind of cake and filling
amount of servings
which pans I used
what I really liked about this cake
what I would do differently
price

This way I have the pic and some other info together
