How Much Would You Charge For This Cake?

People just started adking me to sell cakes to them, and I haven't a clue what to charge. I know what the prices are at the local bakeries, and at the markets, but the bakeries are way above where I am at, and I like to think the supermarkets are below.
So this is an 11" double layer butter filled with strawberry, and a 6" double chocolate filled with dulce le leche. It is buttercream and fondant accents with a candy clay name.
Ok, I can't get it attached in the post, so it is the graduation one in my gallery. Thanks!

Well I am new to cake decorating and new to pricing. I have a wedding cake to make and don't know what to charge either. But I have heard $3 per slice. Now the cake slices are suppose to be 2 x 2? That's what I heard. Who on earth would only eat a 2 x 2 piece of cake? I know I wouldn't. Just by looking at your cake and taking into consideration the awesome fillings and the excellent decorating on it, I think I would charge $60-$70. I live in Boston and I think I could get that here. Your cake is really nice though.

How much money are you putting into the cake?
I have absolutely no idea. I have heard of the 3x what the cost is, but I haven't sat down and figured out all the ingredients. Would you try and figure out what a cup of sugar is, or factor in the whole bag? I'm really terrible at the pricing...lol.

To know how much to charge you really need to know how much you are spending. Other wise you will probably short change yourself and not make enough to really cover your supplies and time.
Find out how much a bag of sugar is, then figure out how many cups are in the bag. Once you know that then you can figure out how much a cup of sugar costs you.
