I know this topic must have been covered many, many times. However, I don't have time to do any research. Can you tell me what tip I use to make grass? Plus any other advice you may have would be greatly appreciated!!!

Grass tip is #233. Just squeeze and pull up.

use a 1 or 2. it'll have the same result as 233, just a whole lot more time consuming.

i've used the 1 before when i lost my grass tip. it did fine.

Thanks! I just may end up using fondant. I am a major fan of fondant but wanted the grass to be more realistic.

It would be worth it to get a tip #233!!

Yes! It WOULD be worth it. However, I need to do this tonight and I live way out in the boonies...NO stores with such an item within a 98 mile radius. Can you imagine that? Crazy as it sounds...true! You can bet I will be getting several tips when I hit the big city!

Coloured coconut (desicated) looks just like the real thing

Thanks Everyone!

I ended up using coconut dyed with green concentrated coloring.

It was definitely not my best cake but it worked. The very next day, I went to the closest city (6 hours round trip) and purchased a tip #233.

Thanks to you, I not only know what to use, I now have it in stock!

Much Appreciated!

The grass looks really good, nice and fresh, pity about the printer, but the cake is beautiful

What should the frosting consistancy be for using the #233 tip?

medium consistency always works well for me. And if you want it to peak more, then add a bit of piping gel to the frosting. That tip works really well for sea anenomie's too (just did some on a cake for today).
