Hi, I must be having a brain fart or something. I cannot come up with a really good idea for a cake which has to serve 3 purposes.

Here's the situation:

My son Daniel is graduating from High School next month, and shortly afterwards, he will be leaving to go to USMC bootcamp. So, I need an idea to incorporate those 2 themes together. Wait....it's gets worse!

As it happens, the only day appropriate for this "party" for Daniel, happens to fall on my other son Michael's B-day. He will be 17 on this day.

Now, of course, I must celebrate all 3 occasions together. We are having close to 125 people attending, and Michael cannot be left out.

I already ordered the invitations, and somehow managed to find just the right words so that the birthday boy doesn't feel slighted.

I need to do the same for the cake.

Any and all ideas are graciously welcomed!

This may be too simplistic, but 125 people screams tiered cake. What about doing a tier for each occasion?

I was thinking three tiers. Each tier can have a theme depicting one of the events. If you used the same colors (or coordinating colors) for each tier it could work. Jodie

Same here, when reading the post I also thought the same as the others...3 tier cake with 1 tier for each occasion.

Doug's idea is so amazing. How do you come up with that stuff? I agree with the three tiers too. Basicially, I have nothing new to add but congratulations to you!

For that many people you could do sheet cakes for each item. I did that last year for a graduation party. I did the one with the high school logo, then one with the college logo and then one to put in the middle with pictures of her being about 1 year old, prom and grad pics. They loved it!

THANKS to you all! These are all very wonderful ideas! I don't know why I didn't think tier...like I said earlier, I must have been stuck in a brain fart.

Although, now I'm sitting here trying to figure out how I could possibly make resemblances (other than stick figures) of Dan & Mike, using Doug's idea! LOL

I was trying to shy away from 3 individual sheet cakes for each occasion, but considered maybe using 2.

OK, well, I definitely have some very good ideas running around in my head now. Just need to sort through them, and see what I am capable of doing.

Thanks Again Everyone! Anyone else have any ideas or pics maybe? I'd LOVE to see them.
