I was shopping at Michael's tonight and I saw something that I've never seen before. It was pearl dust by Wilton, not the shimmer dust but pearl dust. I was excited to find it there. That means now that I don't have to wait for it in the mail or travel 30 minutes away to a cake supply store but I can go to Michael's, 5 minutes from my house and just pick up some pearl dust. Has anyone else seen the Wilton's pearl dust. Hey, maybe it's not new at all, maybe I'm just finding out.

OMG!! I hope my local Michael's carries it now too!! I'm going to look tomorrow!! I really needed some of it last weekend when making my niece's 13th birthday cake, Michael's didn't have it so I went to a Wilton distributor... they wanted $15 for a small jar sold on CC for $1.89!! I refused to pay that amount and just went without. Thanks for the post!

Michael sells a 1oz. bottle for $3.99 which I think is still pretty expensive but I really needed it.

I ran out of Nu Silver in the middle of my D&D cake, so I used the Wilton silver, and I couldn't tell the difference between the Nu Silver pieces and the Wilton ones. Now, I did still have a wee bit of Nu Silver left in my little bowl, so that might have helped.

The Wilton at Michaels cost a tiny bit more than I have to pay for the other stuff, but my closest cake store is over an hour away, so it's worth it.

The extra price is that it is mostly likely becuase it is 1 oz, not 2 gm and the fact that they are truly edible--not non-toxic as most luster and pearl dusts are. I don't know, but it sounds like good enough reasons right? icon_wink.gificon_biggrin.gif
