Or any kind of cake mix for that matter. I saw one recipe that called for milk and instant pudding but I can't remember the measurements. But maybe someone has another recipe to doctor up a cake mix that I am not aware of. I would like a really moist cake. thanks. sunflowerfreak

I always add a box of instant pudding mix (complimentary flavor) one extra egg, and swap out the water in the recipe for milk it makes the cake more rich, slightly denser and really really yummy!!

That is exactly what I would say. You can also sub butter for the oil, it subs equally. I also always add extra vanilla or other flavor that goes with the cake. Check out

for some really great ideas. They have a bunch of great bakers on thier forums.

I found an awesome cake mix recipe on this site and it adds six ounces of melted white chocolate morsels to the batter. It doesn't change the flavor too much but makes a really nice texture...almost like pound cake. It's really dense. This is the only recipe I use for all of my vanilla cakes and everyone loves it. I can share the recipe if you want it.

No problem. Here it is.
This is from "The Cake Mix Doctor" book.

8 TBS (1 stick) butter, cut in pieces.
1 package (6 ounces) white chocolate, finely chopped ( I use Nestle morsels)
1 package cake mix
1 cup whole milk
3 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract

Place the butter & white chocolate in a small saucepan over low heat or melt on medium high in the microwave.
Cook, stirring until both have melted, 3 to 4 minutes
Place the cake mix, milk, eggs, vanilla, & white chocolate mixture in a
large bowl. Mix on low for 1 minute, scrap sides and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Bake according to the box instructions.

I was experimenting with some boxed recipes on my hubby and this was the first one I made. He is very picky and after one bite he said not to bother trying any other recipes. I really think you will love this cake. Let me know if you try it!
