I have a cake due tomorrow morning -

For Chocolate Buttercream, how do I get the color to come out dark brown (like chocolate fudge)? The most I can get is a mocha color, even with using brown Icing color.

I used melted baking chocolate with my regular BC recipe.

Thanks!

If the flavor is where you want it, why don't you try adding color to it to enhance it? HTH

You may have to add some cocoa powder - also - you may not be using enough of the brown color to really darken it. Good luck! Mine always turns out brown, but I use the cocoa to flavor it, not the melted chocolate, so maybe that has something to do with it?

I use cocoa powder as well. It always get s a very dark brown. If you look in my pics the pirate ship is iced fully in the chcolate butter cream. I usually end up adding 1/2-1 c to my regular recipe and increasing the water and butter a little.
