I am making a 1/2 sheet for a grad party...this is probably a silly question...but do you bake 2 cakes and stack them or is it normal just to do the one cake?? My pan is the 12x18x2. So is it suppose to be 2 inches high or 4???

I just do a 2" but it depends how many you want to serve 12x18 serves about 55 by the time you have it filled and iced it is higher. If using DH cake mix it takes 3 boxes. Just made one with a bird house on top you can see the size in my photos. Usually if more cake is needed I make another seperate for a full slab to serve 110 although a real 1/2 slab is 12x16 but try to find pans that size I'v been everwhere.
