Hi ,
as some of you asked for details of the cake - here they are:
All 6 tiers are rich-fruit-cakes, that contained, among other things, 12 Kilos of Sultanias (soaked in rum/port/sherry/whiskey) 48 eggs, 2100 g Butter etc. To cover the cake I used 7 kilos marzipan and 7 kilos fondant.
All flowers and the details are made from gum-paste and gold paintings where done with luster dust.
The enclosed Logo was the impulse for the design. The flowers are the symbols of the countries, united in the United Kingdom: Rose - England, Daffodil - Wales, Thisle - Scottland, Shamrock - Irland and oak as it´s a royal plant.
The whole cake can be seen here:

As mentioned the cake was for the British Consulate General in Hamburg/Germany for their birthday party to celebrate the 80th birthday of Queen Elisabeth II (which she didn´t attend! ).
Thank´s for looking.
Best wishes
Bettina
