Does anyone have a pattern for baby booties? I see them on alot of cakes and was wondering if there is a pattern to cut them out of fondant. I have a surprise cake (Both to me and the mother-to-be) due on Saturday and would like to put the booties on the top.
I have a cutter on Baby Booties...the finish product looks and is the size of real Baby Booties.. I got it from Creative Cutters. It's a plastic cutter, comes in three parts.. you can use it with either Fondant or Gumpaste.. ![]()
Here are Dawn's instructions and patterns

I make 3-D booties using 3 marshmallows and 2 toothpicks per bootie. I put them together in an "L" shape and then frost accordingly. It is super easy and cheap. A lot of times I use Royal Icing so Mom-to-be can keep them for a while.

Here is a link to make booties from fondant.
I would say make one that look like real booties. It's worth your time.
Anything else is not.. just my opinion.. ![]()
With the cake due on Sat. you probably don't have time to order the cutters prettycakes is talking about-although I do like her way better. This is a tutorial on making them from cupcakes.

On a side note-- I have stacked two cupcakes in the back and pointed the toe for a cowboy boot too.
I have made baby booties out of cupcakes. They turn out to wonderfully.
There is a pic in my gallery with them. (very first cake I posted, so don't pay any attention to the actual cake.....just the booties! LOL)
Anyway, you bake 3 cupcakes. Cut one of them in half, and set it aside.
Level the tops of the other two, and flip them over. Take a sharp knife and hollow out a little of the tops....in a circle. Then you take the one that you cut in half, trim it up some, and place one half in front of each of the other two, and ice them using a zig zag motion with a small star tip. (It kind of makes it look like it's been knitted)
Simple, and it looks very nice.
