I have one that is a pizza and watermelon on a cake picnic table.

Maybe you could do something similar?

With 60 people you can do a pretty nice sized cake...

Have a large board and cover it with red/white checkers to look like table cloth.

You can make a Picnic basket (easy enough) have one side with the lid up and things like napkis, bottle of Mustard, Oranges, cherries, corn, head of lettuce, maybe even a wine bottle comming out.

Next to that you can have little "plates" holding a pile of hamburgers or one large one, makes some fries and squirt some ketchup over them. Make some cake corn dogs

Or you can make a Giant Hamburger with condiments and fries .

Let me know if you'd like more details or how-to's and I'll be more then happy to help.

Thanks for all the great ideas!!!

Jenn123: How did you make the "boards" look so real??? I really like this idea but maybe switch it up to a cheesburger and watermelon....could you maybe give me some instructions?? Thanks!

I did this about 15 years ago. I think I iced the cake in crusting buttercream and then used a dowel to make the indentions between the boards. I airbrushed the color. The food was made on separate boards and placed on top of the completed table.

If you don't have an airbrush, you might be able to get a wood look with fondant. Maybe layering different shades of brown and rolling it out. Then painting some wood grain lines??

Thanks Knox! I started doing this when I was eleven. icon_smile.gif
